Another finished Hooked rug

Hello folks, Just finished another hooked rug this AM called Exotic Flower. It is 3'x3' in size. I just need to finish binding edges. It took about a month to complete. Had gotten the idea for my design from an old picture frame that had this design on each corner of frame, I just added a few more petals to my design. Turned out nice. Love the colors. I have a few ideas floating in my head for my next rug design. Of course they are larger ones too. Just can't get myself to hook smaller ones when my designs speak out Bigger, Bigger! Hope that we don't get the strong storms that have been forcast for this evening and tommorrow. Sun is shining here now. Very nice day. Hope that you have a wonderful day also.

Few Rugs finished hooking

Here are a few rugs I designed and hooked. They are about 3'x3' in size. The log cabin pattern is a little larger. Now I have to put my hooking aside and try to work on taxes. Yuck! But in the back of my mind Im still trying to imagine what I want my next rug to be. Thats half the fun of hooking! I love creating new patterns. Hope you like them. Be sure to check previous new posts on the Old Mill restorations below.

Inside of old Mill .

Here are some photos inside the old Mill. As you can see there is a little work ahead of us. Notice the picture of the huge square wooden hopper? We are planning to use this as a large light fixture over a harvest table. It will be attached to ceiling with a light inside. Anyways thats the plan..It is taller than I am. We are going to try to retain the whiteish looking interior walls. I love that look. Another photo is of the new basement that the mill was set onto. Still have the old beams in place. We will keep you posted as time goes by.

Update on the old mill restoration

Just thought I'd update you on progress of our Mill restoration. We finally have the roof and cupula finished. We went with a brownish slate metal roof which turned out nice. We went with metal because we do not want to ever go up there and put another roof on again. The cupula looks wonderful. We put cedar shingles on it that will gray with age. There are windows on all sides of it and we plan to put a large hanging electric lantern inside of it which will be lit all the time. Can't wait for that. Also I threw in a few pics of what we are up against inside the mill but these pics I noticed are older ones of before it was moved to our location. I will get the newer ones on.
