I love big and old things

So I like big things, what can I say. Im talking furniture! The huge mustard color cabinet was just painted and finished by my wonderful husbane Ross. This piece we have had in his shop for quite some time. He painstakenly sanded the old yuchy color off and a lot more Im sure. It will make a grand piece in someones home. Cant wait to get it to the shop (when I find room). The other piece is awesome, and guess what.....Its in my kitchen now. Yep, my husband talked me into putting it in my kitchen, because of its uniqueness and grandeur. Well what was I to say? Would you say no to your husband if he wanted you to have an awesome cupboard in your kitchen? I doubt it.

It has a little bit of mustard and blue paint in the back and minimal amts on a side. Character. Besides, the blue matches my ol' blue wood burning kitchen stove. My husband is awesome. Thank you Ross. It was a real bear to get into the house. Soooooo Heavy. But we managed without a scratch on the floor. Thank you lord. When I also find time I will post pics of some other wonderful pcs we have just added to the store. The store is just packed full of wonderful finds. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful memorial day.. Thank you to all of you Vets that have served and are still serving our country!!!! This country would not be the same without all your help.

New pics of inside store

Hi Everyone, Hope all you mothers had a nice mothers day. I know I did. Finally have a few minutes to post some new pics of a section of the store that I had rearranged. Hope you like. I have been very busy on the road most of the time. Lots of new items being added every day almost. Lots of pcs leaving, sometimes I just get them on the floor and decorated and then they sell by the next day. Thats a good problem to have. So I think that the economy is comming around, slow, but sure. Boy, some days my husband and I put over 400 miles on our van, traveling and filling up our van plus our trailer, unload, and back on the road again. We could almost do it in our sleep. We love what we do. So I must go, lots to do. Hope you stop by sometime in our store, would love to meet you. Take care.

Smart Bird!!!!

I wanted to tell you about a cute story. My husband earlier this spring went to clean out our bluebird houses. One birdhouse was located in my sweet annie patch. When he went to clean this house out it smelled really nice. My husband said that he had to think of what that smell reminded him of , and when it dawned on him that the nest was built from pcs of sweet annie, he thought "Smart Bird".

Peek into my sitting room

Hi folks, Hope everyone is enjoying this weather. Ive been busy on the road for the past several weeks bringing back a load of neat, wonderful things each time. Lots of new stuff arriving daily. I will try to take some pics soon. A few times I thought that I would take a pic of a new piece and then someone bought it. Good for me. I think the economy is picking up, lots of larger pieces of furniture going to a new home. I thought that I would share another pic of inside my sitting room in my home for now. I did a little rearraging. The horse on top of my pie safe is one of my favs. I love old wooden horses. Well I will write something more worthy later. Enjoy.

A little Road trip in Iowa today

My husband Ross and I decided it was to nice to work today, so we ventured off into Iowa. By golly if there isnt some pretty views over there. We went into Elkader to check out an antique mall there, and found info on an old mill located just 7 miles in the country on a gravel road. So we just had to venture there and check it out. WOW. Old stone buildings, and a river and hills to boot, set the mood to just relax and step back in time. We had a bite to eat and a little wine and then decided to hike around the building on a trail of course. I took a few pics for you to see. Just love old stone buildings. It is my grandest wish to live and own a stone house from early 18oos . Enjoy the pics.
