FOUND TREASURES AND WON TREASURES

What shall I talk about first? Well, lets start with yesterday....I had gotten a call from a gal named Angie at our local hardware store. She asked if I was Theresa Halverson... Yes, I replied with a sceptical voice. She then said that she had been trying to get ahold of me to let me know that I have won $1,000.00 (one thousand dollars) gift card at the store. I again sceptical replied... Yah right, whats the catch?. She proceeded to tell me that this was no joke, I really won one thousand dollars in a gift card. I could not believe it. I questioned my husband, he said that he had put my name in a drawing at the hardware store a few months ago. Wow, thanks honey for thinking of me. Well guess whos got the card? My husband. Gotta love him!!!!

Now on to found treasures... Here is an old painted original cobalt blue underneath a salmon color painted front pie safe. Its really cool. Not sure we are going to try to get the underneath color for all over. Will probably repaint it. Needs a screen replaced in one door, but we have old screen laying around somewhere. I also thought that if it was turned upside down it could hang on a wall...add a few hooks to it for hanging things on and wow! Ross is going to add a crown to the top, just wait it will look awesome.

Now another find today was this Jenny Lind wooden trunk. Was once covered in leather. That has deteriorated over time. What a cool shape. And the patina of the wood is wonderful. The inside is ok. Oh just thinking if I should keep it. I have never seen one that I could buy until now.
