E3048 Marble Quarry, Bear Creek, Wisconsin 53577 click on address here to tour our home.
Thought I would invite you to tour our home. This video was taken about 7 months ago by our realtor when we had it listed for sale. We decided that we did not want to sell it after all and hope that we will one day have our rug hooking/crafters retreat . Of course there would be many changes to the decor and some rooms to accomodate hookers/crafters down the road. Anyhoooo.....enjoy! Wish the weather was as nice as this day was.

Progress update on the mill
Hi everyone, Sorry about not posting in a while. We have made headway on the old mill. Next week the guys moving the mill will begin putting it up on the equipment that is needed to move it. So I'm guessing in another week it will begin its journey to its new home about a mile and half down the road. I sure hope that it will make it! I will make sure to take pics of the move. Inside you will see a Huge wooden grain hopper...hmmmm what could we do with this, we will certainly come up with something. Its a keeper. You can see inside on the main floor what it looks like. The upstairs has taller ceiling. All I do is dream of how I am going to decorate 4 floors. Anyways, speaking of decorating, I did just that in our gathering room. The wool is selling like crazy! I am just loving this new venture in rug hooking. I cant wait to show you all my newest designed 2x3 rug. I dont know if I mentioned to you that I am going to Vermont the end of next month to have classes taught by Amy Oxford for a Teachers Certificate for punch needle hooking. You can use wool strips or wool yarn in the punch needle. And also end of March we will find out if our Rug hooking retreat is a go or not. So as you can see Ive been planning and sceaming for some big ventures. The rug hooking retreat plans are that we will be open year round to rug hookers, scrap booking, wool applique, needlepoint, or any other crafts you may want to do here. We will start by housing up to 16 beds and eventually hold up to 25 women. This is a big house. Sitting on 67 acres. Plans are to also have one of our sheds as the wool dying shed. Anyone can come to dye wool of their own here too. Anyways, I have my fingers crossed. Well thats enough ramblings today. Hope that you all have a wonderful day. Blessings to all.

KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!
WELL TOMMORROW IS THE DAY AT 1PM THAT WE MEET WITH THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD TO SEE IF WE GET THE GO AHEAD TO MOVE THE OLD MILL TO OUR PROPERTY. I JUST KNOW THAT I WILL NOT SLEEP AT ALL TONIGHT. WE HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE BACKING US UP ON THIS ONE. JUST TRYING TO SAVE A PIECE OF HISTORY. OH, AND ONE MORE THING.....I HAVE BEEN DOING RUG HOOKING AND AM LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT. WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM EVERYONE ON THIS POLL......I AM CONSIDERING OPENING UP A RUG HOOKING RETREAT ON OUR FARM (YES, HUBBY SAYS GO AHEAD). IF WE GET THE MILL AND MAKE IT INTO OUR HOME, WE HAVE THE FARM TO MAKE INTO THE RETREAT. WE FIGURE ON HOUSING UP TO POSSIBLY 20 WOMEN EACH TIME. (BIG HOUSE). GREAT AREA, LAKE NEARBY, FOOD INCLUDED, SOLITUDE, ECT.... WHAT DO YOU THINK?

OUR NEW HOME

W
ell, maybe. This is a picture of an old flour mill. We are in the process of possibly saving this old building if all goes well. We still have to go in front of the planning and zoning committee in a week. If all ok'd we will then have this beautiful structure moved to our property down the road. It needs sooooo much work but we are always up for the challenge. The inside is really neat to. Talk about primitive!!! Would love to decorate this one!!! Already told my husband that I have dibs on the 3rd floor for my rug hooking studio. Its only fair..he has the whole barn. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I did. Fun watching grandkids open gifts. Its always the best when all my kids are together. Thats what its all about to me...Family!. Happy new year everyone. Will keep you posted on our progress as it develops. Oh, we are also getting in slowly but surely our rug hooking supplies into our store. Im so excited.

Old man winter is here
Hi folks, Hope that you are all keeping warm. Way below zero here with the sun shining. Lots of snow. But its so pretty. We will definately have a white christmas. What better way to pass time than to rug hook. Here is my first piece that I have finished hooking. Just have to complete the rest (hemming, stitching, ironing). This is my original design. I love old barns and houses. Looking forward to doing another. Its so addicting. So many things that my husband and I are thinking about doing this next year. Will keep you all posted as things if and when they happen. Just great things that keep us excited about what we enjoy doing! So here are a few pics of my rug hooking chair pad (my design, 1st one), and a shot out my back door looking at our cabin and the back yard hills. Lastly, a pic of a spot in our bathroom that I decorated. Moved a small cupboard bottom in the room, added a small cupboard top that my husband mad out of a small book case. He then added wainscott doors and stained it. Looks like a small version of a stepback cupboard. Just love it! Well lets hope for an early spring. Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
